Finally, after an year of thinking, pondering, trying to somehow fix my old HP Deskjet 3420, with which i don’t know what was the problem, i bought a new printer yesterday… HP DJ D4168 for Rs. 3050.
The best thing is that it was recognized by OpenSuse… unlike my scanner (Scanjet 2400) which doesn’t have the Linux Drivers (stupid HP).. i know some development is going on for it by some ppl, bt i think its been over 18 months, so i c no chances of my scanner working on OpenSuse…
Anywayz for printer it was a huge confusion on whether to go for Canon or HP and finally decided ovr HP.. Contenders were Canon IP 1700 and HP DJ D4168 and HP won.. for it was faster and gave better print results..

I also read that you have bought an HP printer D4168 for INR 3000. In this regard, dear Shwetanshu, may I take the liberty of inquiring as to where did you make your purchase of the said HP Printer because I have just made inquiries regarding this printer, and, after reading your blog, I believe that you seem to have clinched an excellent deal for INR 3000. I hope you don’t mind my intruding upon your blog in this manner, and I hope you will understand because of the ways HP’s dealers try to fleece their customers. I would be grateful if you could share the name and contact number of the HP dealer from whom you purchased the said printer.

me bought it from Distrct Centre, Janak Puri… and i avoid buying from HP dealers… they try to loot guyz….
the printer is available @ the same price or may be cheaper from Nehru Place.
other details i vl furnish soon since i m nt @ home present…
