Well the time i installed OpenSuse 10.2 it worked fine, it was a perfect installation. But later when i tried to install various other things such as Gaim, gftp, gcc, i started Yast, after that it said cant install blah blah.rpm package.. or something like that. Since i had a perfect install, DVD was absolutely fine, problem must be lying somewhere else!!
I often left the bootable DVD in the rom and started my PC with DVD in the rom only… but one day i took DVD out and inserted it only when the repository asked for it.. and there it worked fine… everything got installed smoothly… it might help those who face the same problem!!

If you aren’t gonna install from the DVD anymore then just remove the DVD repository.
This shouldn’t really happen. If no one has complained about this maybe you should file a bug report.
actually there are lot of dependencies on DVD of the softwrares v install from somewhere.. hence i think DVD cant be removed!!
