Well i had heard a lot about this book, One Night @ the Call Centre. Its Author is Chetan Bhagat. So i decided to read it. Bought it as soon as possible. It can be compared to Prison Break TV Series, once started reading it, u get hooked onto it.
The book is about 6 persons, Shyam Mehra (Sam Mercy), Military Uncle (an old man), Radhika Jha (Regina Jones), Esha Singh (Eliza Singer), Varun Malhotra (Victor Mell) aka Vroom and Priyanka. In brackets are there aliases which they use to answer to queries of dumb Americans (as they call them).
Shyam loves Priyanka, but she ditched him sometime back due to her mom saying SHyam is not the right guy for her. Shyam still have feelings for her. Military Uncle left his son’s home in US coz her daughter-in-law worked and didnt follow his orders. Esha Singh left her parents home in Chandigarh to become a model in Delhi. Vroom loves Esha but she is more concentrated on becoming a model. Vroom lives with her mother. His father divorced her to live with his secretary. Radhika married her love Anuj, but she is frustrated due to her mother-in-law but she still respects her.
They all have their problems which arise the same night due to some reason or the other. I aint telling about that coz it will ruin the fun for tjose who havent read the book. To free themselves from tension, all six goto a bar, all except Military Uncle get drunk, vroom manifold. Drives back to Call Centre, loses control, car crashes into a construction site hanging over a mesh of iron construction rods. As the rods begin to break, they panic.
Then God arrives, speaks to all of them, listens to their problems, gives them suggestion to improve their life and how to get out of the construction site. The god talk motivates them and they faced their problems with max determination. On arriving at the call centre, they carry out the plans.
The book is good, in a way it teaches us a lot, nvr to give up and all that stuff.. Like his previous book it was also a good read. I finished it in 3hrs and 48 mins (exact) with 2 4 mins break included!!.
I have 4 other new posts, read them if u get time!!
