In this post i will write about how i got rid of The Problem of My Phone not getting detected as a P2K Device evn when in Data/FAX Modem mode. U can convert to Data/FAX mode by going to Menu –> Settings –> Connectivity –> USB Settings –> Data Fax Modem.
Tools i used were:
First i unintstalled Motorola Phone Tools, then Motorola USB Drivers and then i ran Registry Cleaner and also cCleaner for deleting Temp Files and Fixing some registry issues. That is, i removed everything with the name Motorola in it from my system.
Then i re-installed Motorola Phone Tools and USB Drivers. Dont remove the CD from the CD ROM. After that i insalled Motorola Software Update. After completing installation, i restarted my system. After that i ran P2K Commander which showed my L7 as AT Device.
Then i ran Motorola Software Update which installed lot of drivers (around 5) and then changed my L7 to P2K Mode!! I had to install drivers everytime (like 3-4 times) i wanted my L7 to be detected as P2K device, but after sometime it stopped asking for drivers. Then i had all the fun!!

Alternatively, u can just download Motorola Phone tools, install it, run it and see if ur phone changes to p2k mode. I didnt try it though!

Start MotoMidMan and wait for sometime and ur phone will get connected as P2K Device!!
