NFS: MW Review

Well to start with NFS:MW needs just one word to describe it. Awesome.

I got the game last friday, but i m getting very less time to play it. I installed the game and then started it wondering will it run on my two and a half yr old compy. Well it did ran quite smoothly with few frame drops during race at the minimum possible settings. And then i played it on my frnds comp who can play DOOM 3 at max settings. The racing was awesome, and what not. Wished i had his compy. To know my PC config, click here.

The major difference between this and the previous installment is a proper stortyline. This time it is explained with the help of videos unlike comic strips in the UG2. Although the characters are always overacting especially the bad guyz and some dialogs and scenes that i definitely dont want my mother to see or hear em. The Hot Chick helping us this time is Josie Maran playing Mia in the game.

The Game starts with u being new to street racing, having an awesome car and a gr8 girl with u. Then a baddy racer named Razor (if i reme the name right) challenges u to a race for Pink Slips and getting his frnds to
sabotage ur fuel line. Thereby u lose the race coz ur gives up almost halfway. Then u r busted, sent to jail. Wen u r back, u have no car, very less money and u have to start from the scratch to get ur car back, since RAZOR with the help of ur car has reached at the top of Blacklist 15, so u must defeat each blaclisted driver to reach razor and get ur revenge.

UG series had 5-6 different types of races to pull urself up on the ranking system. But MW is ddifferent. It uses Challenges, there are races, which are essentially circuits, sprints, and drag races, and then there are the cops chases where you have to achieve milestones such as defeating pursuit cars, or some dollar value of damage. The Blacklist have set some criterias which u have to finish b4 u can race against them. And u cant move to Blacklist 14 without defeating Blacklist 15.

The cop chases are almost real with cops behaving as if they have real brains. U get caught in spped traps or u do something illegal, u are reported and then cops start to chase u. The music also changes to something exciting so u can also feel the heat. Although i have set soundtrax off, coz i like the sound of roaring engines, police sirens more cops talking. The chase is exciting, and scary and i feel bad to lose the cops. The music wen i was listening at low sounds, i felt it was similar to sundtrax of NFS:UG.

As the game progresses, cops become more and more intelligent. They use helicopters, tire spikes, road bloacks to chase u down. From using crappy cars, they start using Pontiac GTO or Corvette C6. To escape from cops u can use Speed Breaker feature, which is like slowing time down so u can drive with precision. The feature is similar to that present in Max Payne Game. Then there is Pursuit Breaker, in which u can destroy things like a water tank, gas pump. Now this also makes u more and more wanted by the cops. If u get too extreme, it will be impossible to drive unless u trade in ur car.

The system for upgrading cars is similar to UG series. U have to buy parts to make ur car more better and better. Like UG series, this also has point system. So u also have to spend money to get car painted with out of this world colors, funky or ugly vinyls, rims, engine paint(????), brake paint(????), and wat not. In my opinion after all the visual modding the car loox uglier than ever. And oh ya, u get money by winning the races. U can also tune the car according to ur need, just like in NFS: MW.

If u beat any blacklisted driver, u get three markers. Now these markers can be anything from cash, to upgrade parts, pink slips or out of jail free cards in case u get busted. These are gr8 way to fuel ur NFS madness more.

In all the game is simply gr8 with awesome gfx (not on my pc :-(), hot chick ;-), tougher races, good storyline and gr8 way to satisfy ur NEED FOR SPEED. i give it 8.5/10. Although some sites have given it 10/10.

For info, i m racing Blacklist 11.
