Well well well what can I say about dismal performance by almost every player of our TEAM except JP Yadav and Irfan Pathan. Batsmen were playing like, that they have been given the bats for the first time. For me, Ganguly shud stay out of the team for sometime and practice on some bouncers. I didn’t see how he got out, but on seeing the first over by bond bowled to Ganguly, I quickly said, he will be out soon. He was batting like as he was seeing the ball of the size of Ping Pong ball or he was scared of bond’s aggressive bownling as if bond was firing the bullets at him. The four Ganguly hit, it was sheer luck. It was completely pre-meditated. It was only in the news that I saw Breaking News that Ganguly is out, then I switched over to the match, and wat I see next??? Venugopal Rao, our first super sub, being clean bowled on the first ball. Then again I changed the channel, after sometime I see score on the news, 18-4, I got up and stopped watching TV. Well then I saw the news only after 9 PM and saw India all out for 164, and we lost the match by 51 runs. It was disgusting, our team being touted as the strongest contenders after Australia for the World Cup 2007.
Going by the performance of our Indian Cricket team, it is very clearly visible, why our selectors are so keen for getting Sachin back in the team. They have already included hin in the test side, though he barely started to practice. When he is in the team, there is a moral support for the team, even if he doesn’t play.
Well only consolation for me today was Sania Mirza reaching semis by claiming 6-2, 6-1 victory over Italy’s Roberta Vinci at the Forest Hills Women’s Tennis Classic.
